Description
Olanib is used for the returning treatment of some types of ovarian cancer in patients who have had platinum chemotherapy or a change in a gene called BRCA. Olanib is a potent oral poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor. Cancer cells rely on PARP to stay alive, including cancer cells whose BRCA gene changes, thus Olanib works to stop PARP from repairing DNA damage which results in the death of cancer cells.
