Leukemia is a kind of cancer that mostly affects the bone marrow and blood. It is characterized by the rapid production of abnormal white blood cells that interfere with the body’s ability to fight infections.

Acute lymphoblastic (ALL), acute myeloid (AML), chronic Leukemia can take many different forms, including lymphocytic (CLL) and chronic myelogenous  (CML).

These types are classified based on the speed of progression (acute or chronic) and the type of white blood cell affected.

Leukemia is often diagnosed through blood tests, bone marrow biopsies, and genetic testing. The condition can be both aggressive and life-threatening,

but advances in treatment have made survival rates improve, especially when detected early.

While the exact cause of leukemia remains unknown, several factors, including genetic mutations, environmental exposures,

and certain medical conditions, have been linked to an increased risk of developing the disease
